OVERVIEW
Philip K. Dick stands tall among the many writers in the world. He is one of the grandmasters of the genre of writing that he took as his own, science fiction. Probably Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov are the only other writers who have mastered the craft as much as him. His ability to spin a totally believable story that might even happen in the future is unmatched and it is clearly visible in this work. The story is in fact an inspiration for many Hollywood movies like the Blade runner and its sequel. Other movies like Surrogates also have a similar premise. Rick Deckard is the protagonist of the story. The story happens in the post-apocalyptic future when all animal forms are on the verge of extinction. This has called for a massive process of producing mechanical animals that are very realistic. However, they have also made androids similar to humans. Now, they are being hunted as the world sees them as a danger to the society.

Rick Deckard is the officer who is trusted with the retiring of Nexus-6 models which have gone missing. As the search for the androids go on, Rick meets with graver threats and truths. He is a good policeman who has always got his job done. However this is one task that, even the best of the bests find it hard to do. Simply because of the fact that the androids look very realistic and it is not easy to differentiate a human from the androids. As he moves around and encounters the androids, it becomes increasingly unclear as in who is more human. He finds it hard to find answers for the questions that his encounters pose. 


REVIEW
This is the masterpiece of Philip K. Dick and if you are still in a dilemma, whether the story is worth it or not, then you were probably never as wrong as this.
